New CD on the way

Work has started on the new CD, drum and bass tracks were laid down a week last Sunday using David's house as the control centre and his garage as the live room for drums and DI'd (Direct Injection - silently recorded) bass. We managed to get eight tracks recorded in a very productive day. This compared very favourably with work we did two months earlier at a commercial studio where the inadequacy of the equipment and an inept (for inept read well-meaning but clueless) engineer resulted in nothing more than a hole in our pockets and little else.

Although laid down as 'guides', the guitar (recorded using a Blackstar HT Dual for the gearheads) and vocals on some of the recording are good enough to keep, although work has now started on replacing them and adding some backing tracks. The project will be completed in time for the USA - if we can come up with a name. Originally we had a working title of 'Doing It For Love' - the title of a song on the new collection. We have also considered 'Scorch' or a variation on that. Once we have the name we can start to think of artwork and get all that geared up too.

Lips

And thinking of artwork is precisely where we are at.  Love & Lips are themes of the moment which invariably involves discussions around colours of lips. Of course it is of paramount importance we get the colour of our lips right; we want our lips to turn heads .... to bring our Album cover alive.  So what is it to be.... a shade of lipstick consistent with our theme such as Lovelorn, Amorous, or Lustful, or should we be throwing caution to the wind and going for Naked Paris, Fresh Moroccan or Vegas Volt.  My vote goes for one called 'Up the Amps'  - no joke!
