The Green Fairy
No - this blog isn't going to be about washing-up liquid. Just to say that despite the dismall weather and the fact that it is midweek, we have nonetheless had a great gig tonight at the Victoria Club in Chesterfied. Firstly, our loyal FFGs rocked up, and gave their all to many of our songs. 'Whole lotta Rosie' got us all going - even I was out of my seat! Not only were we extremely happy with the audience in general (and the Chief who wants us back again), but we were also treated to a proper stage which gave David space to spread out with all of his guitars (and for me to fall over). Even packing up and driving home was enjoyable. It is so good to have conversations about things other than children and animals. I swear one of these days I will jump out of the office window! Yes - we got talking about alcohol and Absinth, its bright green colour and 20th Century Artists and Writers who were devoted to the stuff. Apparently 'the Green Fairy' gets the creative juices flowing.
Hmmm ....a quick swig - before my next gig. Now that's poetry!!!

Fairies wear boots...
The only problem with absinthe is that after more than a couple of glasses, you start to actually see Green Fairies. Everywhere.
Mellow and green - and apparently in other colours too.....
And as Ruth and I were discussing that's apparently why the romantic poets and the impressionists loved it so much and came up with such great art! Excellent! I only know this because I spent a large part of my University days 'researching' the matter and being fascinated by poets who did laudanum too......
Very mellow, in a hallucinogenic kind of way!
I have now received top tips on how to create cannabis infused absinthe, which has to be in a whole world of its own! And I've discovered that there is a 92% proof black coloured version. Hmmmmm....I wonder what you see after drinking that? Possibly not very much!
And I'm with Ruth on offic
e chat - diets, children and animals. Aaagggh! Pass me the absinthe!
How many Green Faries?
... do you think Oscar Wilde had drunk when he came up with this:
"Music makes one feel so romantic - at least it always gets on one's nerves - which is the same thing nowadays."
Perhaps he was on the Cannibis infused variety!
David, Boots & Fairies!
Question is Andy, do you fall upstairs before or after you have seen the Green Fairies. Or do you 'Blame it on the Boots'? David????
That's rich
coming from someone who almost habitually falls upstairs and has to play bass with a finger splint - given previous correspondence should this be a finger spliff?
We ought to be careful - children might be monitoring this site ready to shop us to the PC police. Does anyone remember V?
Adolf
V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm doing the finger sign now! And beneath my skin another identity lies.....does this make me a green fairy or a lizard?
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSssssssssssss! (that's me hissing, not doing Swampsnake!)
