Bonsall Carnival

The real highspot of last weekend was playing Bonsall Carnival - challenging too as we played an entirely covers based set including the 'Tollerton' numbers. Sharon shouted "Bonsoir Bonsall" incredibly loudly and was almost overwhelmed by the audience response of "Allo Amplifires". This is what it was all about. At one point too we had a load of people up dancing! Sadly we had to leave early so only caught the first few numbers when the members of Eat Cake blew the audience away with their tight, tuneful and tasteful renditions of ever popular favourites. More gateaux I think than cake!

Being a grown up person

Hmmm, slagging off other bands is rather immature, and just makes you look insecure about your own shortcomings. Time and energy is better spent learning to play in time, and sing in tune. Go on, give it a try...

I thought I was an idiot................... get this clown!

Look at you giving Bonsall a bad name with your oxmoronic comments! First you say don't slag a band off and then contradict yourself by doing exactly the same. I thought the Amplifires were great by the way - at least they play their own songs and have a singer that can sing. And the guitarist doesn't pretend to look like a third rate, sour faced Edge.

Thanks!

And if any of the people originally writing comments in to the website had bothered to look at our message site, I wrote a long personal e mail to Amelia, who made the first comments, explaining where some of the spikiness in the blog came from and giving another perspective as the band singer - who does not in any way go in for attacking other bands or other peoples' creativity. We are not about that as a band. Steve was being humorous, not malicious, albeit not to everyone's taste.
